Board grants 11 exemptions, three abatements in fiscal 2026 review

Bourne Board of Assessors approves tax relief and property abatements in April session. The Board of Assessors granted 11 tax exemptions and three real estate property abatements for fiscal 2026 during an April 10 meeting, while denying one exemption application and 12 abatement requests. Chairperson Ellen Sullivan and Clerk Peter Loughman Jr each voted by roll call to enter two executive sessions to review the applications.

The board also granted fiscal 2025 abatements for properties at 82 Sandwich Road and 117 Old Plymouth Road, closing Appellate Tax Board settlement offers.
