Bourne Opens Applications For Two Town Board Vacancies

BOURNE — Bourne is seeking residents to fill two open town board seats, with applications for the School Committee and the Planning Board both due by September 2.

TOWN HALL The Bourne School Committee has one open seat for a term expiring at the 2027 Town Election, according to the town's News Flash postings. The Planning Board also has one open seat for a term expiring at the 2027 Town Election, with applications due by 4 p.m. on September 2.

SCHOOLS Bourne Public Schools begins New Teacher Orientation today, a two-day session running August 25 and 26 to prepare incoming staff before students return. The orientation leads into a run of building-level welcome days later this week for new teachers and students across the district.

COMING UP Bourne Intermediate School holds a Welcome Day and a "Getting Ready for School" session from 2 to 4 p.m. on August 26. The Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School has a meeting scheduled for August 27. Bourne Elementary's Welcome Back event runs from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and Bourne Middle School's Welcome Event runs from 3:30 to 5 p.m., both on August 31, alongside a districtwide staff in-service day. Staff Orientation Day follows on September 1. Applications for the open School Committee and Planning Board seats are due by 4 p.m. on September 2.
