Bourne Reopens Patuisset Beach, Shifts Traffic Pattern at Key Intersection

BOURNE — Patuisset Beach has reopened for swimming, the town announced, while a new four-way stop at Barlows Landing and Shore roads has begun reshaping traffic in that part of town, and officials are seeking candidates to fill a vacant Town Meeting Moderator seat.

Patuisset Beach is open again for swimming, according to a News Flash post from the Town of Bourne. The announcement did not specify the reason for the earlier closure, but the town's advisory signals the beach has cleared whatever testing or safety review had prompted the shutdown.

The intersection of Barlows Landing Road and Shore Road officially became a four-way stop as of Monday, June 29, the town confirmed, a change first flagged on the town website in late June and now in effect for area drivers.

Separately, the Town of Bourne is accepting Letters of Interest to fill a vacancy for Town Meeting Moderator, a position that will remain open until the next Annual Election. The stated deadline to apply was July 9, meaning residents interested in the post should contact the town clerk's office promptly to confirm whether the window remains open.
