Bourne School Committee Has One Seat Open, Applications Due September 2

BOURNE — The Bourne School Committee is seeking candidates for one open seat with a term running through the 2027 Town Election, the town announced, with applications due September 2.

TOWN HALL The Bourne School Committee has one vacancy for a term expiring at the 2027 Town Election, according to a town News Flash post. Residents interested in serving are asked to apply by September 2; the town's notice directs interested applicants to read the full posting for eligibility and contact information.

SCHOOLS Bourne Public Schools' calendar shows the district turning toward the new school year. The Bourne PTA is set to meet at the Bourne Middle School media center on August 12, and the district has also posted dates for Meet the Coaches at Bourne High School on August 18, the start of fall sports on August 24, and two days of new teacher orientation on August 25 and 26, alongside a welcome day at Bourne Intermediate School on August 26.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Canal Region Farmers Market and Concerts by the Canal is scheduled for August 6, giving residents a midweek market-and-music option along the Cape Cod Canal. A Meditations on the Beach program is also on the town's events calendar for August 9.

COMING UP Several town boards meet in the coming week: the North Sagamore Water District and the Conservation Commission both meet August 6, followed by a joint session of the Bourne Affordable Housing Trust and Bourne Housing Partnership and a hybrid Board of Health meeting, both August 12. The Bourne PTA meets at the Bourne Middle School media center August 12. The Canal Region Farmers Market and Concerts by the Canal runs August 6, and Meditations on the Beach is set for August 9.
