Bourne Schools Set Welcome Event Times Ahead Of Sept. 2 Start
DATELINE — BOURNE Bourne Public Schools has locked in the schedule for next week's welcome events at all four schools, with staff reporting back Monday and students returning for the first day of classes on September 2. Elsewhere, Meditations on the Beach and Indie Art by the Sea return to town this weekend, and new obituary notices for two Bourne residents surfaced in local listings.
SCHOOLS
The district's welcome-back week is now fully scheduled. Staff report for an in-service day Monday, August 31, the same day Bournedale Elementary holds its "BES Welcome Back" from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and Bourne Middle School runs its welcome event from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Staff orientation continues Tuesday, September 1, when Bourne High School hosts a welcome event for grades 8 and 9 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at 75 Waterhouse Road.
Classes for grades 1 through 12 begin Wednesday, September 2, with kindergarten following Thursday, September 3. The School Committee holds its first meeting of the school year on September 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bourne High School.
