Bourne Historical Commission approved a demolition delay determination for a Pocasset home renovation. Chair Steven Philbrick oversaw the July 28 hearing for 28 Wenaumet Bluffs Drive, involving removal of an existing garage and construction of a new structure on a circa 1940 dwelling. Applicant Kelly Donovan of Donovan Construction cited structural deficiencies in the current garage and noted the flood plain elevation at 17 feet.
The new structure will maintain Cape Cod architectural style while preserving the three garage doors, kitchen, bathroom, and boat storage bays. The hearing was rescheduled from July 14 due to an advertising error. The commission voted 6-0 to approve.
