Bourne Conservation Commission approves pipeline easements on conservation land. The Commission unanimously approved temporary and permanent easements for Algonquin Gas Transmission's Cape Cod Canal Pipeline Relocation Project on three town conservation parcels, with the utility proposing replacement conservation land of similar size for the permanent easement. Conservation Agent Stephanie Fitch noted the Select Board reviewed the project January 27 without concerns and confirmed the applicant consulted with the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe regarding a 400-acre sacred site affected by the work.
The vote was 8-0-0. In separate action, the Commission voted unanimously on Orders of Conditions for coastal residential work including pile-supported piers and septic system upgrades at multiple town properties, continued several applications pending site visits and plan revisions, and approved two invalid Certificates of Compliance for 2006 permits never completed.
