Select Board approves utility pole on Barlow's Landing Road, moves FY27 budget with dispatch cost increase

Bourne Select Board votes on utility pole and budget with major cost spike. The board unanimously approved installation of a joint utility pole on Barlow's Landing Road for Eversource Energy and Verizon New England Inc., and voted 5-0 to transmit the FY27 budget to the Finance Committee with a County Dispatch line item revised upward to $296,798, up from the budgeted $226,674, creating a shortfall of at least $70,000. Town Administrator Marlene McCollem noted the town faces a potential additional deficit of roughly $350,000 based on a preliminary local aid proposal.

The board also unanimously renewed five aquaculture licenses for two years and submitted the Waterways and Marinas Regulations to Town Counsel for review.
