Select Board Backs Shared-Use Path Near Keith Field

Bourne Select Board backed a shared-use path near Keith Field as part of Sagamore Bridge replacement work.

Select Board · Meeting of May 19, 2026

Bourne Select Board backed a shared-use path near Keith Field as part of Sagamore Bridge replacement work. The board voted 5-0 to concur with MassDOT's determination that the bicycle-pedestrian connection from Sandwich Road to Canal Service Road would not adversely affect protected environmental resources. The vote followed MassDOT's withdrawal of a parking proposal that had drawn opposition from the Select Board, Police Chief Brandon Esip, and the Recreation Committee.

Town Administrator Marlene McCollem was authorized to sign the environmental letter subject to Town Counsel review confirming it addresses only the shared-use path.
