Select Board tables private way betterment, backs Enbridge gas easement

Select Board · Meeting of February 10, 2026

Bourne Select Board defers Tara Terrace and Eldridge Street road repair after learning property owners behind on taxes since 1999. Two open space parcels worth $23,900 and $9,800 combined owe $24,700 in back taxes, and the registered owner, Prince Street Real Estate LLC, was administratively dissolved, making collection of the proposed $56,097.63 betterment improbable, Town Counsel Attorney Bryan Bertram told the board. The board voted unanimously to request Town Counsel and staff review land status and town policy on private way betterments in time for the May town meeting.

In related business, the board unanimously backed an Enbridge Article 97 petition for permanent pipeline easement and access road easement on three conservation properties to support gas main relocation ahead of the 2028 Cape Cod Bridge replacement project, subject to legal review. The board also unanimously approved two one-day liquor licenses for community events and voted unanimously to request enrollment and school-choice data from both Bourne Public Schools and Upper Cape Cod Technical School.
