Zoning Board Agrees to Consider Remand in Wedding-Use Case

Bourne Zoning Board agrees in executive session to consider remand in wedding-use case.

DocumentCenter · Meeting of March 18, 2026

Bourne Zoning Board agrees in executive session to consider remand in wedding-use case. In the case of Christina Stevens v. Town of Bourne ZBA, pending in Land Court, the five-member board indicated it would consider a remand where Stevens contests an order she says prohibits all weddings at her residential property.

Town Counsel Bryan Bertram explained the plaintiff could seek a stay and remand rather than pursue full court proceedings. The board agreed it would be willing to stipulate that Item 1 of its findings overrides a cease-and-desist order and will attempt to hear the clarification request in May.
