Bourne Zoning Board approves fire station variance for undersized Clay Pond site. The board voted four to one to grant relief from 30-foot side yard and 40-foot height requirements for the new four-bay station, which town officials said was the only parcel meeting response-time and flood-zone criteria after six years of searching. Vice Chair Joseph Spinale dissented, arguing the town should pursue zoning changes rather than establish precedent for private variance relief.
The board also continued a separate matter for Kendrick Lane Realty Trust due to technical difficulties.
