Bourne's Select Board uncovered a school enrollment error that may have overcharged the town roughly $350,000. Town Administrator Marlene McCollem said the fiscal 2026 assessment from Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School used 215 students when verified records show only 203, a gap of 12. "I can't explain how 215 students would have been used," McCollem said.

Vice Chair Anne-Marie Siroonian pushed for a joint meeting with the school committee, while Chair Melissa Ferretti said she wants a firm number "especially as chair." The board voted 4-0 to request enrollment data back to 2021 and separately voted to ask Town Counsel for legal options to recover funds.
