Planning Board · Meeting of May 28, 2026

BOURNE — The Bourne Planning Board approved a marijuana retail dispensary and denied a contested driveway expansion at its reorganization meeting. Members reelected John Duggan as chair, named Christopher Farrell vice chair and Rob Frangieh clerk, then voted 7-0, with Steve Strojny abstaining for a conflict of interest, to approve Bourne Cannabis's special permit for 694 MacArthur Boulevard, a project representative Jannis Patel said involves "approximately two to three million dollars" in investment and 20 to 30 jobs. The board also unanimously approved added parking for Cataumet Fish at 1360 Route 28A and continued Amazon Granite's relocation plan to June 25.

In the night's most contentious item, the board voted 8-0 to deny attorney Adam Flynn's request, on behalf of Thomas Pappas, to add a fourth house lot to a shared Scenic Highway driveway, with Chairman Duggan warning against "setting a very bad precedent" after Pappas acknowledged building a foundation before securing a permit.
